A handful of whispering fans sat in a polite little semi-circle on the studio floor, as the unassuming Owen Pallett, bka Final Fantasy, entered the room and picked up his violin. The audience -who earned their pass to the private session via twitter- sat fascinated by Owen’s presence and proximity, wondering if just he and guitarist, Thomas, could create the whimsical, orchestral swells that made Final Fantasy soar. But, as they had hoped, a symphony emerged from the hands of just these two, and we shed our wonderment to bask in pure fascination.

wow, this is a pretty awesome video. the wiry mr. pallett has got a sort of andrew bird freakiness to him, and the music is as quirky, but more technical… which i like. thanks for putting this up–i’m going to get some of these guys’ music as soon as i’m not broke.
