Yours Truly sincerely hopes that Rohin Jones –lead singer and six string picker for Townsville Australia sextet, The Middle East– has a mended collar bone come April when he & his mates make the trek out to the desert for their stateside debut at this year’s Coachella Festival. Careful on that 10-speed Rohin!
Rohin and Bree –whose sprightly vocals you’ll recognize from The Darkest Side–were kind enough to share a few of their fave-a-rit things with us in a feature we’re calling 5-4-3-2-1 .

hey there, good write up. the middle east are fantastic! i caught their show at a sydney festival last week (seems the collarbone is ok). The live performance was amazing – there are 7 musicians in the band and they all have an instrument of some sort at all times. So many beautiful layers and melodies it was quite overwhelming. There are some photos of them on my blog http://www.apachekids.blogspot.com the above comment is correct their debut is called ‘Recording of the Middle East’ and has 8 tracks.
They’re a great band from a great place. So exciting to see them making waves everywhere.
