Omah Lay’s “Soso” Tops The Chart Five Months After Its Release

Five months after the release of his album Boy Alone, Omah Lay’s smash song “Soso” has reclaimed the top spot on the charts. The smash song from Omah Lay’s album Boy Alone has re-peaked at number one five months after its debut, signaling that the “Soso” fever is back stronger and greater. The popular song dethroned Ruger’s “Asiwaju” and Zinoleesky’s “Personal” to claim the top spot on the daily and real-time charts for Apple Music’s top 100 songs in Nigeria.

This is not shocking, considering that over 41,000 videos titled “Soso” are now trending on TikTok. Moreover, on the daily Spotify Nigeria chart, “Soso” has once again peaked in the top 5. Even before Boy Alone, his debut project, was released, Lay had already published a list of cities in the US and UK where he would be making tour stops to promote the album. That was how confident the singer was in his album, and when the fantastic body of work was finally put out, we all understood better.

And since its release, the album has stubbornly stayed in the top 20 of the Apple Music Nigeria album chart, climbing its way up into the top five, where it is currently positioned. “Soso” seemed to hit gold when Omah released its aesthetically pleasing visuals a couple of weeks ago, and from the looks, it just might stay at that top spot for a long minute.
