Way Back Wednesday

In the 60′s, Jack Jones was kind of a pimp. Frank Sinatra dug him (he recorded “Strangers in the Night” before Frankie Baby). Judy Garland said he was “the best jazz singer in the world” (but she was probably hammered). He was married to a Bond girl (the ginger from “Diamonds Are Forever”). He recorded “The Love Boat” theme song. But beyond those achievements, the undisputed highlight of his illustrious career was this version of Michael Legrand’s songSweet Gingerbread ManThis is the most over the top, just had an enema and feeling super about it song I’ve ever heard.*Confession. First spin through I thought he said “fresh out of the PANTS with the gingerbread man” and this was actually a naughty love song about an illicit affair with a ginger little gentleman. Either way it’s pretty sweet. Thanks for the memories Jack.
