The James Brown Cover Has Kelly Clarkson Fans Feeling More Than Just “Good”

Every episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show has Kelly Clarkson performing a hit song; for her most recent Kellyoke performance, the talented vocalist sang James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good).” In her interpretation of the smash single from the Godfather of Soul’s 1964 album Out of Sight, the Texas native preserved the blues and funk flavor.

Brown’s song reached its highest position ever on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 3 in 1965. As Clarkson showered the crowd with her powerful voice during her performance, you could hear the audience yelling in the background. Fans praised singer Clarkson for a job well done after being satisfied with her performance and deluged the video’s comment area with their praise:

“Wow, I love Kelly’s version. She’s got soul!!”

“I always feel good after listening to a Kellyoke performance!”

“Kelly can sing anything and make it sound amazing!”

“Kelly always ALWAYS crushes it!” “This VOICE can do no wrong.”

Kellyoke has grown to be such a beloved part of the singer’s concert that she even adapted it into an EP that was released in June and on which she performs renditions of songs by Whitney Houston, The Weeknd, Linda Ronstadt, and more. Here is a video of Clarkson performing “I Got You”:
