This isn’t the first time Kurt Vile and yours truly have shared a small space together. The first go round was almost 2 years ago, back home in what had to be the mission’s sweatiest apartment. Then recently, Kurt came to yours truly’s house in Austin just after breakfast to play a pair of tunes from his latest album Smoke Ring For My Halo. After sealing in the silence with “Baby’s Arms”, Kurt moved swiftly and effortlessly into “Jesus Fever,” the song you see above.
Ps, isn’t this set design by Lydia Fine pretty?! Yea, she’s aces.
