EMA
High school was full of total freakshows but after graduation, most of these characters either became artists or totally outgrew their weirdness and started working in insurance. Of course there are individuals who officially slipped through the cracks, and EMA’s anthem to one such person is as raw and blunt as the weapon held responsible. “Twenty kisses with a butterfly knife” she sings devoid of visual emotion, batting her eyes behind sunglasses and probably thinking ‘I told you so.’ She beats the strings of her guitar with a heavy hand, just barely able to hide the tenderness and boldly disguises the pain in a rash of black and blue.
