In various forms, we all revel in the comfort of the familiar. The solace of your own bed, the predictability of your neighborhood’s morning routine, the smell of your corner bakery wafting in through the window; the senses become so well acquainted with these elements that we often fail to recognize their importance to our sense of balance. Whether we become jaded, bored or simply spoiled by our cozy bubble, the appeal and excitement of detaching from the proverbial is undeniable. We muster up the courage to abandon comfort in the name of exploration, setting our sights on taller mountains and larger waves, all the while subconsciously knowing that if we truly love something, it can never really be left behind.
