In blog years (which are like dog years times 2) Guards and yours truly go way back (we practically played in the sandbox together). The story begins at FYF Fest 2010 where Guards drummer Loren overheard yours truly gushing about a mystery band called Guards, and proceeded to introduce himself as the drummer! A few months later Guards made its live debut at yt’s first ever NYC show, Pillow Talk/ Pillow Fight. Then, they played our holiday benefit. Then, they came to SF, and took us to a mortuary, where “I See it Coming” and “Swimming After Dark” were recorded for you and yours.
