21 Savage Discusses the NBA YoungBoy And Lil Durk Feud: “Ain’t No Trying” To End It

21 Savage is speaking out after being one of numerous artists dissed in NBA YoungBoy’s tune “I Hate YoungBoy” a few months ago. As his federal prosecution grinds forward, the Louisiana rapper has been under house arrest in Utah. That notwithstanding, he released the track in February, which took shots at Lil Durk, the rapper’s fiancée India Royale, Durk’s father, the late King Von, Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, the 4PF crew, and 21.

It was supposedly in response to Durk’s “AHHH HA,” in which the Chicago rapper allegedly took verbal aim at YoungBoy, prompting this retaliation. Prior to this interaction, 21 Savage was asked about the continuing conflict between erstwhile buddies Lil Durk and NBA YoungBoy in an interview with DJ Akademiks last Fall. Many musicians will not cooperate with YoungBoy due of their devotion to Durk, according to 21 at the time.

“You don’t have to pick sides,” he said at the time. “But you gotta be a certain type of artist to be in the middle.” 21 Savage was recently questioned by Math Hoffa about whether he has taken any steps to put the feud to rest on his end.

“Nah, hell nah,” he retorted. Sometimes, according to Savage, situations are too far gone for others to interject. “Certain sh*t you can’t even—you don’t try… Certain sh*t, you just know, ain’t no trying.”
